Gozo Channel links Ċirkewwa in Malta with Mġarr in Gozo. The standard passenger fare is EUR 4.65 for the round trip, while foot-passenger tickets are validated at the Mġarr terminal.
The round-trip path
The fare belongs to both legs
The standard passenger price is a return fare. The unusual part is the validation point, not a free outbound journey. Budget the full ticket before leaving Malta for the day.
Online tickets do not reserve a sailing
A standard online ticket is not tied to one departure and is currently valid for six months, but it does not create priority boarding. Vehicles and passengers still queue on a first-come, first-served basis.
One phone needs one ticket per person
Every passenger must present an individual ticket for scanning. A group cannot hold one multi-ticket PDF on one device and pass the whole party through the gate with it; split and distribute the individual tickets first.
Children still need the right proof
Children aged 3 to 12 currently pay EUR 1.15. Infants aged 0 to 2 travel free, but a parent must still collect a free infant ticket so the passenger count is correct.
The fast ferry is a different product
The Gozo Channel vehicle ferry from Ċirkewwa is not the same as a high-speed passenger service from the harbour area. Compare departure point, operator, luggage rules and fare before buying a ticket simply labelled Gozo.
