Compagnie des Autobus de Monaco lets visitors tap a contactless bank card directly on the validator. Monapass offers QR tickets and passes, while the same network includes ordinary buses, night services and the boat-bus across Port Hercule.

The bank card becomes the ticket
Open Payment does not print a paper ticket. The card or device used at the validator is the proof of travel and must be presented if inspected. Keep one traveller's payment method consistent through the day.
The cap rewards repetition
CAM charges EUR 1.50 per validation up to the EUR 5.50 bus-day ceiling. The operating day runs from 6:00 to 4:00, so the cap follows the network clock rather than a traveller's rolling 24 hours.
Groups need deliberate taps
One contactless bank card can multi-validate for up to six people. Monapass also has group and multi-journey products, but activate the number of travellers before boarding and validate every required QR code.
The boat is part of the transport wallet
The electric boat-bus crosses the harbour and uses the urban network's fare system. It is not a separate sightseeing cruise, which makes it a useful shortcut between Monaco-Ville and the Monte-Carlo side.
The cheapest lift may be an actual lift
Monaco's public elevators, escalators and moving walkways can erase a steep climb without touching the travel budget. Use the official visitor map to combine them with buses rather than paying for every vertical move.
