The Lithuanian Curonian Spit is reached from Klaipėda by the Smiltynė ferry. Vehicles then meet Neringa municipality's local entry charge at the Alksnynė control post on the road toward Nida.
The road has three receipts
The ferry fare is not the environmental gate
The ferry operator charges for moving passengers and vehicles across the lagoon. Neringa municipality separately charges mechanical vehicles entering its protected territory. Paying one does not settle the other.
The calendar can multiply the car fee by five
The ordinary passenger-car entry fee is EUR 10 for ten months of the year. During the peak period from 20 June through 20 August it becomes EUR 50, making the travel date part of the transport budget.
Parking begins after arrival
From 1 June to 31 August, Nida operates paid parking zones with different hourly or daily prices and charging hours. An entry receipt is permission to enter, not a parking ticket.
A car is a choice, not the only route
Foot and bicycle ferry travel, buses on the spit and cycle routes can remove the vehicle entry and parking lines. Compare convenience with the full three-part car cost before boarding the ferry.
Check vehicle class and exemptions
Motorcycles, campers, buses and unusual vehicle classes have their own rates. Electric-vehicle treatment and special exemptions can change, so confirm the current municipal table before departure.
