Opening hours are part of the purchase
The office currently lists longer weekday hours and a short midday closure on weekends. Christmas Day and New Year's Day have special afternoon hours. Confirm the live schedule before building the day around the stamp.
Not every passport welcomes souvenir stamps
Some national authorities discourage unofficial or souvenir marks in passports. San Marino advertises this as a tourist visa, but cautious travellers should check their issuing authority or use an expired passport or separate souvenir booklet when uncertain.
The receipt is a small piece of travel history
The value is emotional rather than functional. Keep the receipt with the trip journal and photograph the page, because replacing a passport later will not move the stamp into the new document.
